The Family that Prays Together

Theme: Unleashing the Power of Prayer

Topic: The Family that Prays Together

Acts 10:2
A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

A family is the basic unit of a society, Church or organisation. The strength of the society is directly proportional to the strength of the families in the society. It is therefore not strange that from the time of Adam and Eve, satan has attacked the family system and attempted to separate families from God. The family must stand united in fellowship with God.

The Word of God clearly indicates that, it is good and pleasant for brethren to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Adam and Eve fellowshipped with God in the Garden of Eden. God counted on these family meetings (Genesis 3:8). God still fellowships with families – make yours one.

God revealed His plan to Abraham only because He knew he will raise a family that fellowships with Him like Abraham did (Genesis 18:17-19). Cornelius with his household feared God and fellowshipped with Him together (Acts 10:2, 23). They received salvation and the baptism of the Holy Ghost together (Acts 10:44-48). Decide to raise a praying family. Family visions will be achieved when families pray together (Matthew 18:19).

Prayer Assignment:
1. Pray for anybody in your family who does not yet know God, that God will convict them into repentance.
2. Pray that God’s presence will dwell in your family.
