Jesus Christ Intercedes for your Forgiveness

Theme: Unleashing the Power of Prayer

Topic: Jesus Christ Intercedes for your Forgiveness

Psalm 32:1-2
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Forgiveness is a great blessing of God to you. To forgive means to let go, remit, forsake and cease. To forgive sin is to remit someone’s sins or let them go. Without forgiveness, our relationship with Christ will be non-existent. Forgiveness restores you to fellowship with God and positions you to receive other blessings from Him. Forgiveness also produces peace in your heart, peace with God and peace with men.

There are two ways in which you receive forgiveness from God. The first is through praying to God to forgive your sins. If you sin and are convicted, you must confess your sins and repent of them in order to be forgiven (Psalm 103:2-4). The second is Jesus Christ praying for you to be forgiven. There are rare occasions in which you are completely unaware of your sins or your heart is hardened; yet God in His mercy seeks to deliver you. Jesus Christ intercedes for you to be convicted and repent of your sins so that you can be forgiven.

It is obvious that if Jesus Christ placed a premium on the forgiveness of sins, and asked His disciples to pray for forgiveness, He must be praying for your forgiveness in heaven (Matthew 6:12). His intercessory prayer is more effective than yours because He is a better intercessor than you (Romans 8:33-34). If believers pray for one another, sins are forgiven and we receive healing (James 5:14-16). It is even better when Jesus Christ prays for you.

Jesus Christ’s prayer for your forgiveness is more effective than yours because He is righteous – without sin, and the forgiveness of sins is based on His own blood. Beloved, Jesus Christ is praying for your forgiveness.

Prayer Assignment:
