Month Theme: Explode

Topic: Starving Starvation in the Church

Scripture Reading: Acts 4:20-35

Main Text:
Acts 4:34
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

The outcome of the explosion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the days of the early Church was increased numbers of souls many of whom had needs. The Church met those needs because there were people who had lands and money (Acts 4:34-35). We must starve (eliminate) the starvation in the modern-day Church.

We must ensure that poverty and starvation are eliminated from our midst.
1. Sufficiency — As many as had lands. Lands represent physical properties, intellectual property, gifts and abilities. How many of us have lands?
2. Skill — The skill and grace to sell land. Some have lands, knowledge, wisdom, gifts and qualifications but can’t sell them.
3. Sacrifice — The people were sacrificial enough to lay the money at the apostles’ feet.
4. Supply — The apostles were faithful with what the people laid at their feet for distribution. Everybody’s need was met.

It is the will of God for us to have all sufficiency because of the needs of others (2 Corinthians 9:7-9).

Prayer: Pray for God to raise many more philanthropists, including you, in the Church.
