Month Theme: Explode
Topic: God’s Partnership with You
Scripture Reading: Mark 16:1-20
Main Text:
Mark 16:20
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
We are used to the idea of God using men and women to do His work. We understand men working for God. What we are not used to is God working with men. God is in partnership with you. The Lord worked with the early apostles (Mark 16:19-20).
God does not work against us. He works with us.
1. Action — They went forth and preached everywhere. God is waiting for you to move.
2. Assistance — The Lord worked with them. God is not always in front of us working but sometimes behind us. However, when we take the step of faith, He takes over the action and dictates what happens.
3. Affirmation — To affirm is to validate, assert. The Lord confirmed the Word with signs.
The word confirm is the Greek word bebaioō meaning to make firm, establish, strengthen. The word signs is the Greek word sēmeion meaning a distinguishing mark, token, wonder, supernatural indication, an unusual occurrence transcending the course of nature. God confirms His Word with signs – with deeds that are supernatural. Signs and wonders are the most authentic ways with which God confirms His Word and validates His servants (Acts 10:38).
Prayer: Pray for a miracle in any situation that man has given up on.
