Topic: Explodables

Scripture Reading: Acts 27:1-21

Main Text:
Matthew 10:14
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Receiving the Word of God brings blessings upon people but rejecting it has negative consequences. God is not indifferent to people who reject His Word and preachers. Jesus Christ warned against rejecting preachers (Matthew 10:12-15). Cities that reject the Gospel are as explodable as Sodom and Gomorrha. The explosives of the Kingdom of God build up believers but explode against unbelievers who refuse to believe in the name of Jesus Christ. Those who are destroyed by the explosives of the Kingdom of God are EXPLODABLES – the Gospel that saves others condemns them.

Julius the Centurion failed to pay heed to the spiritual warning of the apostle Paul and lost a ship and everything on board, when he refused to obey the apostle’s directive not to continue from a certain point of their journey. The centurion refused to obey the apostle but rather followed the advice of the ship captain and ship owner to undertake the journey (Acts 27:1-2, 9-11, 21). A storm called the Euroclydon hit the ship on the way and they lost everything.

Doubters are explodables. Julius the Centurion and all the people in the ship did not die because God preserved them through His covenant with the apostle Paul. Nevertheless, we may consider them as being explodables because they lost everything and suffered great harm. Doubters lose their properties, lives and sometimes souls.

Prayer:
Ask God to help you grow in faith, and deliver you from doubt.
