Theme: Overcoming In the Evil Day
Topic: Wisdom for the Evil Day
2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
There is too much darkness and evil in the world and believers must fight against it and overcome. We are in the evil day – a period of protracted and unimaginable evil in which the devil seeks to steal, kill and destroy. We are well able to defeat the enemy. Victory in battle however belongs to he who has the advantage – in tact, fire power, spirituality, etc. (Luke 14:31-32).
Ignorance does not win battles. For satan to win the battle, he will need to have advantage. Ignorance on your part will give him that advantage. With godly knowledge, and proper application of same, you will always be victorious in the evil day (Ecclesiastes 7:12). We must know that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood – identify the enemy; we must stand and not fall in the evil day; we are only strong in the Lord; we need the full armour of God.
A lazy approach to Scripture study and prayer will only put us at a place of disadvantage. To have the necessary knowledge and corresponding wisdom to fight this battle, we must redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16). We must seek the will of God; have constant fellowship with the Holy Ghost and godly fellowship with one another; always thank God, and submit to someone who is submitting to Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:17-21).
Prayer Assignment:
1. Pray that you will be wise – having divine solutions to problems.
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:10-18
