Month Theme: Explosion

Topic: The Speed of the Sound II

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-10

Main Text:
Acts 2:2
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

The sound like a wind rushed into the space the disciples occupied – it was like a rushing mighty wind (Acts 2:1-2). A sudden explosion took place. Speed is one of the major characteristics of the explosion of God’s power. The manifestations of the Holy Ghost are quick and spontaneous. Our spirits must be quick to catch the moves of God.

The prophet Elijah ran in front of Ahab’s chariot to Jezreel – he was faster than a chariot (1 Kings 18:45-46). The Holy Ghost is propelling us to overtake chariots.
Three factors that determine speed:
• Influence (And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah) — there was a supernatural influence in the prophet’s speed. Without the hand of the Lord upon us, we will struggle to achieve anything (1 Chronicles 4:10).
• Involvement (he girded up his loins) — Participation and collaboration are needed for speed. When the hand of the Lord is upon us, we have the responsibility of girding up our loins. We must be committed to prayer and the study of the Word. We have a responsibility to be diligent in the work of our hands, and to care for our families, etc. We must make a move. God will not run for us.
• Intrusion (And ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel) — Imposition, incursion, interference and invasion. Your place may not be left for you on a silver platter. May you come out of where people and systems have relegated you to, and enter where people have disqualified you from entering.

The spiritual information and divine performance must spread faster than machines and computers – the Spirit is always faster than technology (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Unbelievers and devils bear evil news and orchestrate satanic plans like the spreading of the coronavirus pandemic to control and destroy people’s lives (Jeremiah 12:5). This prophetic generation who have good news from God must run ahead of them. Slow movement has no place in prophetic ministry – we must explode with speed and force.

Prayer: Pray that you’ll operate with prophetic speed in the year of explosion.
