Month Theme: Fire

Topic: The Power of the Tongue — Revival

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-10

Main Text:
Acts 2:3
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

The appearing of the tongues like fire on the day of Pentecost in the Upper Room was not a coincidence (Acts 2:3-4). God chose that symbol on purpose just as He chose the sound, wind and fire. Every symbol had a divine plan. The tongue is a major player in the explosion of the power on God on earth.

The tongues of fire signalled what the Holy Ghost was about to do in the disciples (revival and refreshing) and with them (reaction). Revival is the restoration of life. The disciples were as good as dead because of fear. Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). If believers desire to live and give life to the world, they must employ the power of the tongue.

A silent Church will lose the war against the gates of hell and the world. The day of Pentecost empowered the tongue of believers to revive the Church and react against the world and hell.

Prayer: Pray and speak life into anything that is dead or dying around you.
