Month Theme: Holy Ghost

Topic: The Holy Ghost Forbade Them

Scripture Reading: Acts 16:1-10

Main Text:
Psalm 139:7
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

The Holy Ghost demonstrated His omnipresence when He forbade the apostle Paul and His team from preaching in some places but gave them access to other places (Acts 16:5-10). The Holy Ghost was everywhere to determine whether they could go in a certain direction or not.

The Holy Ghost forbade Paul from sending the Word of God to Bithynia (means a violent rushing) but commissioned him to go to Macedonia (the tall ones or highlanders), because:
1. Time — Bithynia meaning “a violent rushing”, may probably not have recognised their time (Luke 19:44).
2. Target — For some spiritual, physical or unknown reasons, the Holy Ghost may deny some people the opportunity to receive the Word of God or blessings. For them, it is not about wrong timing or failure to recognise their time – the blessing is simply not theirs (John 4:21).

The Holy Ghost in His omnipresence forbids those who may be more qualified than you from receiving the ministry but gives you advantage or the opportunity (Romans 9:16; Ecclesiastes 9:11).

Prayer: Pray that no blessing meant for you will be diverted.
