Month Theme: Release
Topic: The Familiar Sound
Scripture Reading: Leviticus 25:1-15
Main Text:
Leviticus 25:10
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
The announcement of the Jubilee returned people to their families and properties (Leviticus 25:10). The sound of the Jubilee trumpet was a familiar sound which brought relief, joy, laughter and singing.
The sound of preachers and believers in our time should not produce different effects from the familiar sound which is revealed in the Word of God. We must not produce guilt, bondage, fear, depression and defeat with our teaching, prophecy and practices. The sound of the Jubilee follows the blessings of the Jubilee namely:
1. Favour (Isaiah 60:9-10) — people receive favour and in turn show favour towards others.
2. Forgiveness (Luke 7:39-48) — sins, offenses, debts, etc are forgiven.
3. Freedom (John 8:36; Galatians 5:1-2) — the Jubilee sound is a sound of freedom.
The sound of the Jubilee is one that releases – it does not bring us under bondage. It releases righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).
Prayer: Pray that in all you do, and wherever you go, you’ll find favour with God and man.
