Topic: The Destination of the Explosion

Scripture Reading: Mark 16:14-20

Main Text:
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to “go into all the world” and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15-16). The destination of the Gospel was all the world. They were very few disciples — most of them being illiterate — at the the time, with limited means of transportation, yet their assignment was to “all the world”.

The word “world” in the above scripture reference is the Greek word ‘kosmos’ meaning adorning, orderly arrangement and decoration. It connotes the idea of the geographical world and the systems or fashion of this world. The destination of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is every part of the world – kosmos – including physical space, philosophical situation, psychological state, spiritual domain, economic system, political realm, cultural setup and ecological condition.

It is sad to see the Church trap itself within the walls of church buildings without penetrating the kosmos. We are sadly not just local churches in terms of space but also in influence and impact. We must arise and respond to the command of the Lord Jesus.

Prayer: Pray for the grace and strength to influence and impact the part of the world you find yourself.
