Month Theme: Holy Ghost
Topic: Looking at Eternal Things — Removal
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:1-18; Acts 2:1-10
Main Text:
2 Corinthians 4:18
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Believers in Christ go through many tribulations and challenges. We resist the devil, sin and death through the power of the eternal Spirit. The Holy Ghost is God’s means of empowerment for believers to overcome trials so that they can receive the blessings God has laid in store for them eternally (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
Understanding the eternity of the Holy Spirit gives us the boldness to face trials, temptations and death. We must keep our focus on the things that are not seen. One of the major assignments of the Holy Ghost is to show us eternal things and keep our focus on them (1 Corinthians 2:9-12).
One of the things the Holy Ghost can reveal to us is removal. We shall be removed from this world one day. The exodus is coming. It is the Spirit that gives us the grace to see and be ready for our removal from the world. Elijah knew he was about to be removed from the earth (2 Kings 2:1, 9-10). Apart from being removed from this wicked world to a better place, while on earth we are removed from evil places to safety. You are about to be removed from a situation or place.
Prayer: Pray that the Holy Ghost will comfort those who have had family and friends removed from this life. Also pray that you’ll be removed from negative places and circumstances.
