Impacting Lives – the carnal against the spiritual

Theme: The Giving Grace

Topic: Impacting Lives – the carnal against the spiritual

Hebrews 6:10
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

It is interesting how Believers don’t have a problem doing the things they consider spiritual like preaching, praying and living holy but regard other things as carnal and devilish. If we have to give money to a cause we regard as spiritual (like buying an organ for the church), we do so without any struggle. However, we find it difficult to buy a shirt for the person playing the organ (something we deem non-spiritual). We must discard this way of thinking.

Hebrews 6:10 tells us that ministering to needy people in the name of God is an act of love towards Him. Anything we do for God and in His name is spiritual, even if it will directly benefit another person. Jesus Christ performed His first public miracle (a spiritual act) at a wedding feast, not a crusade (John 2:1-11). Apostle Paul told the Corinthians to do all things including eating and drinking to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31-33).

Many of the areas in which believers are supposed to make impact are not traditionally regarded as spiritual. We have neglected the fields of sports, academics, politics and business under the pretext that they are non-spiritual. By so doing, we have woefully failed to make impact on the world. God does not create a dichotomy between so-called spiritual and physical things the way we do. Let’s impact the world.

Prayer Assignment:
1. Pray for the Spirit of discernment to know which field of endeavour you can impact the world through.
