DAY 1 – ARMOUR FOR THE EVIL DAY

 MON. 3rd APRIL, 2017

TOPIC: ARMOUR FOR THE EVIL DAY

INTRODUCTION

There is too much darkness and evil in the world and believers must fight against it and overcome. We are in the evil day – a period of protracted and unimaginable evil in which the devil seeks to steal, kill and destroy.  We are well able to defeat the enemy. The day of suicide, unwarranted deaths, strange diseases and incidents is with us in the nation.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-7 (KJV)
1  Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
2  While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3  In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
4  And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
5  Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6  Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7  Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Armour:

Ephesians 6:10-20 (KJV)
10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Prayers:

  1. Pray that you will be strong in the Lord in the power of His might.
  2. Bind principalities and powers for “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
  3. Put on the whole armour of God with prayer. Confess and declare them one by one on yourself.
  4. Walk in the truth of the Word of God and speak the truth.
  5. Put on the righteousness of Jesus and repent from sin.

Practise preaching the Gospel of peace constantly.

  1. Exercise your faith and rebuke the spirit of fear and doubt.
  2. Confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and claim His salvation. Refuse to allow the devil to condemn you.
  3. Employ the Rhema Word the Holy Ghost puts into your spirit against all obstacles and situations.
  4. Pray in the Spirit for some time.
  5. Ask God to make your spirit watchful and give you the grace of perseverance.
  6. Pray for utterance and boldness for the Senior Pastorate and yourself; the devil cannot shut our mouths from declaring the total counsel of God
