Month Theme: Explosion

Topic: Developing Trust

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-41

Main Text:
Acts 2:1
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Trial cultivates trust in God in godly people. Trust is a form of faith which is more lasting and encompassing. Trust is more encompassing in the sense that it reposed in God as a Person but not in an act He performs. The apostles of Jesus Christ trusted Him and rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name (Acts 5:40-42).

Trust is not a momentary display of faith but prolonged adherence to God. Time is a trust builder. The trust of the disciples to live for Jesus Christ was built up when they stayed in His presence for a long time (Acts 1:14-15). As they prayed and made supplication to God for some time, trust in Jesus Christ was generated in their hearts. The apostle Peter was one of the disciples whose trust in Jesus Christ grew as the brethren were together in the Upper Room. He became a different man altogether.

The man whose faith in Jesus Christ was shaken when He was arrested and crucified, received courage to assume his role as the leader of the disciples. Believers contribute to the level of one another’s faith when they are together over a period. Trust in God and His promises is a major tool in the explosion of supernatural power and harvest of souls. Investing time in the presence of God, earns us the sudden explosion of His power.

Prayer: Pray that any trial that comes your way will not break, but will make you stronger.
