Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Today, we consider the last topic in our series of devotionals on “Armour for the Evil Day” – All Kinds of Prayer. All the other components of the Armour of God we looked at earlier, are quickened through prayer. It is however unfortunate to know that many believers only pray one or two kinds of prayer, once in a long time, instead of praying all kinds of prayer always.
All kinds of prayer inlude Warfare Prayer, Prayer of Intercession, Prayer of Supplication, Prayer of Petition, Prayer of Thanksgiving, Prayer and Fasting, Praying in Tongues, Prayer of Worship, etc. We should not limit our prayer to only petition, for instance. We must pray always (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and each time we pray our prayer should not be centred on ourselves only but God and other people also (2 Thessalonians 3:2), through worship, thanksgiving, intercession, etc.
Praying all kinds of prayer is effective and enjoyable when engaged on the bases of Scripture. Grow your vocabulary and faith in the Scriptures to enhance your prayer life. We must not be silent in war; we must speak, roar, shout and declare the Word of God till every foe is vanquished and Christ is crowned Lord indeed in our lives.
